Happy New Year!
I hope you had a wonderful holiday and are ready for the new year.Take a guess. What can make you nervous and yet you cannot avoid it? What is one of the most common fear along with a fear of heights? Give up? It's public speaking. Public speaking isn’t limited to just speaking in front of a crowd. It can be during a meeting, a school or work presentation, an interview, a toast at a wedding or just introducing yourself. Speaking in public takes on many forms and whatever the situation, you need to be ready.
Does the thought of speaking in public make you want to run and hide? Do you find it frightening? You’re not the only one and there is no need to fear. Here are a few suggestions. Practice your speech in front of the mirror or a friend or family member. Make sure your message is clear, concise and your audience can hear you. Pay attention to your audience whether it is an audience of one or one hundred. Are they engaged? Do they look confused or bored? Make changes if necessary.Add a little humor or clear up any confusion. Stand up straight but don’t look stiff and do not look at your feet or into the air. Look at the audience.
Do you want to become a confident public speaker? We are here for you! Come join us on February 16,2019 for our seminar on public speaking. Tickets are $30 until January 31 after that is $45. Don’t wait too long! Check out http://www.careereducators4you.info/index.html for more information on the seminar and how we can help make your New Year a successful one.
